                              Monday Ladies – Conditions of Competition

Membership: Open to all lady golf members of Elm Park.   Annual subscription is €5.

How to Join: The golfing year goes from January to December.  You can join any time during the year.  Put €5 into an envelope, put your name on the envelope with the date and drop it into the Monday Ladies White Box ( This is a large white box which is placed on the desk in the Ladies’ Locker Room on competition days)  or give the envelope to any of the Monday Ladies Committee.

Terms: There are 3 Terms, culminating in a “Big Day” at end of each term as follows:

  1.   December to March/April with "At Home/Spring competition" end of Term Big Day
    • 18 Holes Stableford ILQU Qualifying competition
    • All players play off their ILGU handicap.
    • Prizes: Overall Winner, Runner Up, Gross and 3rd. 1st, 2nd, 3rd in all Classes and any further Class prizes will depend on level of donated prizes.
  2.    March/April - September with "Monday Captain's Competition" end of Term Big Day
    • 12 Holes Non-qualifying Strokes Competition
    • All players play off their ILGU handicap, however, anyone who has won within the Term will have an adjustment of 1 Stroke added to their total score.
    • Prizes: Overall Winner, Runner Up, Gross and 3rd. 1st, 2nd, 3rd in all Classes and any further Class prizes will depend on level of donated prizes.
  3.      October - December with "Christmas Competition end of Term Big Day
    • 9 Holes Non-qualifying Stableford Competition
    • All players play off their ILGU handicap, however, anyone who has won within the Term will have an adjustment of a 1 point deduction off their total Stableford points.
    • Prizes: Overall Winner, Runner Up, Gross, and 3rd. 1st, 2nd, 3rd in all Classes and any further prizes will depend on level of donated prizes.
  4.       In order to win the Main prizes and 1st - 3rd Class prizes on a “Big Day”, you must have
    • Played in 3 Monday competitions within the Term and
    • Paid your annual subscription

Competitions:

The Monday committee will run a 9 Hole strokes competition on each Monday subject to availability of the course.

Timesheet:  Opens at 12 noon 8 days before the competition

Winter: 08:54 to 13:42

Summer: 08:30 to 13:42

Draw: ‚ÄčTakes place at 9:45 for slots from 10:00 to 10:30 (First 12 names will be included in Draw)

Members Hour changes at certain times of the year and this may affect the timesheet of the Monday Ladies. 

Format: A 3 ball, 9 Hole strokes competition with additional (free) birdie competition

All players entering the strokes competition are automatically in the Birdie Competition.

Birdies are entered into the Birdie book by the player on the date achieved, specifying date, Hole, score, and marker’s signature.

All competitions must comply with the rules of golf.  Conditions of the competition are published on the Notice Board.

Entry Fee:  €2

Weekly Competition Procedures

  1.    A player enters the competition in the Pro Shop by paying the relevant entry fee (€2 normally). The Pro Shop staff will enter the player into the BRS system and will give you your competition labelled score card. Once a player is entered into the competition via the BRS system this automatically counts for eligibility critieria purposes. 
  2.   For players in the Draw, they should go to the Pro shop to enter the competition once the Draw has been done by a Monday Ladies Committee member. They will receive their competition labelled score card from the Pro Shop staff.
  3.   A player who wishes to record their score should enter it into the BRS system via the computer located on the Caddymaster's desk and then should put their card into the Monday Ladies White box beside the computer.

                                     How the Handicap System Works

At the beginning of each of the three terms - Spring/Summer/Autumn - everyone plays off their official ILGU Handicap.  This applies to the first 9 Hole strokes competition of the term in which one plays.

Prizes:

Class 1   =     1 to 21

Class 2    =   22 - 27

Class 3    =   28 - 33

Class 4    =   34 and upwards

Full competition (50 or more players):

1st in each class – Voucher for € 20

Best Gross in each class – € 5 cash

For a competition with less than 50 players there is a Sweep:

21 to 49 players – Voucher for € 10 to winner in each class – No Gross Prize.
Less than 21 players – Voucher for € 10 to overall winner only.

Handicap adjustment

Class winners will have 2 strokes added to their weekly score for the duration of the Term, with an additional stroke being added each time you win again within the period.  This adjustment will be reduced to 1 stroke/point for the end of Term “Big Competitions” except where there will be no adjustment for the Spring competition as it is an ILGU Qualifying competition

Gross winners  have no adjustment

Note: If a player fails to comply with conditions of entry she is deemed not to have entered the competition.
